The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 has released its annual engineering college rankings. IIT Madras topped the list for the fourth year in a row followed by IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi. The ranking parameters include Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception. Among private colleges, BITS Pilani secured a top 15 position. NIT Trichy led the NIT category. Several newer IITs entered the top 50 this year due to improved research output and infrastructure development.
